| Down Payment Assistance
Are you trying save money for a down payment on your first home? I know that it takes a Herculean effort to diligently put away money for that day when you can finally have a home that is truly yours. The problem is, life keeps happening while you’re trying to save. Kids get sick, cars break down, braces, proms and little league just keep happening.
Well you may already have your down payment or at least a significant portion of it and just don’t know it. If you’re trying your best to save for a down payment and just can’t seem to get there – you may be much closer to that dream then you realize.
The Washington State Housing Finance Commission was created in 1983 under the administration of Governor John Spellman. The mission of WSHFC is to serve as “a publicly accountable, self-supporting team dedicated to increasing housing access and affordability and to expanding the availability of quality community services for the people of Washington ”. This agency was created to assist in the areas of home ownership, multi-family housing and low income housing. In the arena of home ownership WSHFC administers the House Key and Home Choice programs. Both provide home buyer down payment assistance, with the Home Choice program devoted to children and adults with developmental disabilities and their families.
The first step for either program is to attend a Homebuyer Education seminar. Parkview Services holds seminars several times a year. For House Key seminars, click here for the WSHFC web site. Once there, click on Home Ownership, Getting Started and then finally Schedule of Seminars. Or you can give me a call or drop me an email and I'll find one for you.
Parkview Services is a non profit organization serving the developmentally disabled since 1967 and assists with these programs and others to help with home ownership. Depending upon your eligibility, income, need, size of your family and location, up to $123,000 may be yours in the form of home buyer down payment assistance to use toward a home of your own. Check here often for future dates or email me and I will send you an invitation to the next seminar
